Our goal is to list all the independent veterinary practices in the US, Canada, the UK and beyond – but we need your help! Whether you run a practice or you simply know the independent vets in your local area, we’d love to hear from you. The best way to verify an independent veterinary practice is to do it through the map, but if you can’t find the practice you’re looking for please fill out the form below. If all else fails, please email us.

Finding latitude and longitude

  1. Open Google Maps and search for the practice.
  2. Right-click the map pin or the exact location.
  3. Click the first line of numbers to copy the coordinates.
  4. Paste the first number as latitude and the second as longitude.

You can leave these blank if you are not sure.

Independent veterinary practice

For this site, we define an independent veterinary practice as one that is:

  • Independently owned and controlled by local veterinarians, founders, employees, or community-based owners.
  • Free to make its own decisions regarding patient care, staffing, pricing, and practice operations.
  • Not part of a large corporate veterinary chain, consolidator, or investor-controlled network.
  • Maintains meaningful local autonomy rather than operating under centralized corporate management.
  • Focused on serving its patients, clients, staff, and community as a locally led practice.
  • Submitted practices will be cross checked against the Private Equity Vet list.
